"Panda Program" Himani Trust collaboration with the China Foundation 

HIMANI TRUST implemented an Education and Health Kit Distribution program to COVID 19 affected children (PANDA Pack) in Nepal from January 2022 in various Rural Community schools of Gulami, Lamjung, Gorkha, and Manang District with collaboration and support of China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD) to improve the learning conditions of Nepal community school. The program aimed to help students promoting quality education for personality development through extracurricular activities. Improving quality Education is one of the core components of HIMANI TRUST, and this program is in a close coordination with local-level stakeholders like schools, mothers groups, communities, and organizations focusing on poor communities and hard-to-reach groups.

During the Distribution program: 

• The education and Health Kit Distribution program was implemented in coordination with the school committee and local governments by organizing a formal distribution ceremony program.
• The education and Health Kit Distribution program managed and chaired by the local government chief person, School principals, teachers, Parents, Local groups members, Volunteers, CFRD, and HIMANI TRUST representatives. HIMANI TRUST representatives were actively involved in the handover Education and Health Kit Pack to Community school students.
• Red bag to girls and Blue bag to Boys were distributed along with the orientation about the details of use, handling, and storing procedure.

Education and Health Kit Pack (Panda Pack):

This Pack is a gift purchased with fund support of CFRD to provide for Community primary school students. Every item of the package was carefully delivered while maingating high quality and hoping best utilization to improve the health status, daily hygiene maintenance, and study well. It includes the following things:

This event helped to make a mutual understanding and become more familiar with improving and sustaining quality education and motivate for strengthening and maintaining creative and quality education delivering system. Program aimed an overall development, intellectual and physical development of students, and had to pay more attention to various other aspects such as Health, Hygiene, Arts, sports, and entertainment in addition to studies. Therefore, the school must pay attention to the adequacy of resources and tools related to extracurricular activities and the continuous and well-organized planning of such activities. The Education and Health Kit distribution to school students was fruitful and effective as it encouraged, motivated, and enabled them learning creatively and smartly. Support and coordination with the District Administration Office, District Education coordination unit, local bodies, and Groups were very appreciative and highly acknowledged such the program. Proper management, active and supportive participants of Local groups, Volunteers, CFRD Team members, and HIMANI TRUST team members remained very important to receive success for this program. Motivating & encouraging able participants of chairperson Himani RLD Shah and Princess Kritika RLD Shah, Mr. Suresh Pyakurel from CFRD during distribution events remain crucial and productive to get the program more interactive, effective, and fruitful.
